Sarah is a registered Patent Agent in the Intellectual Property practice. Her work has primarily focused on preparing and prosecuting patent applications, FTO search, competitive intelligence monitoring, due diligence, and IP strategies. Additionally, Sarah has a wide range of experience in scientific matters including biopharma full drug lifecycles, small molecule and peptide chemistry, manufacturing processes, delivery, CMC-related activities, and IND and NDA preparation and filing.

Prior to joining Mintz, Sarah worked as a Patent Scientist and Agent at a prominent, multinational agrochemical and agricultural biotechnology company. There she was responsible for managing the internal IP portfolio of certain areas such as pesticide, chemical process, and agriculture biological; the filing and prosecution of inventions in order to secure pipeline value; the securing of FTO and enabling technologies; the development and enabling of IP strategies; and IP project ownership and management.

Earlier in her career, as an IP Liaison and Senior Scientist II, she was responsible for both the advancement of biologically active drug candidates to various stages of development and for FTO/patentability search and design. Other duties included the areas of prosecution, litigation, and due diligence required for licensing and providing support for patent drafting.

Sarah’s doctoral thesis at Rutgers University concerned the synthesis of an alkaloid natural product and other related analogs, and b-glucosidase inhibitors; and her postdoctoral research at Cornell University was on the synthesis of (+)-trehazolin and trehalase inhibitors.
